Every day at Gunvor, we work on our transition from gray to green. And every day, safety and reliability come first. But no day is the same with us. Take, for example, Yorick’s first day as an intern.
Through my studies, I got in touch with Gunvor. Before starting my internship, I had the opportunity to shadow someone. That’s when I learned that you get a lot of freedom and can do a variety of tasks. That really appealed to me because I’m eager to learn as much as possible.
9:00 AM My first day as an intern started at HR. A presentation was given, covering all the departments and processes. This gave me a great first impression of the organization.
11:00 AM Next, I had to get my equipment: a jacket, flashlight, helmet, and shoes. I immediately noticed how helpful everyone was, as they all pitched in to assist me.
12:00 PM During lunch, I met a lot of people, as everyone approaches you when you’re new. I immediately felt at ease.
1:00 PM In the afternoon, I had the opportunity to shadow one of the Operators and see how inspections are carried out.
4:00 PM I ended my first day with a meeting with my internship supervisor at Gunvor. We discussed my internship assignment and how to get started with it.
