The energy transition means we’ll be introducing new processes at our plants. We’re doing this to create a more sustainable world. Everything we need to achieve a sustainable world is under development. But transport will still be needed, and materials will also still have to be recycled. This creates many opportunities in a broad range of sectors. Each of these opportunities provides a different, essential role for Gunvor. For instance, consider sustainable aviation fuel, circular naphtha, and the storage and distribution of hydrogen carriers.

Moving from being a traditional oil refinery to a green producer is a challenge. But we’re embracing this challenge with our strategic partners. The result is a win-win situation. We’ve joined up with partners so we’re able to benefit from each other’s knowledge of new processes. Our partners use our unique location, our infrastructure and our experience of almost 60 years of refinery operation.

Over the coming years we will begin to demolish some installations to make space for new ones. But it’s straightforward to get the majority of our infrastructure ready for the future.
